To Our Real Moms,
Welp, that was an “interesting” year…to put it lightly.
Here at Motherhood Maternity, 2020 was always going to be a year of reinvention. We found a new home with a new parent company and we were ready to take on a whole new world with them. We were ready for lots of NEW, but not quite THIS much. I mean, 2020’s literal catchphrase was “unprecedented times.”
It’s so odd to look back on the year, because there really isn’t much to say that hasn’t already been said. It was the weirdest, most isolating year that we all experienced together. And we think that’s what stands out the most this year – this contrast of being alone together. Even though we were all separated by at least 6ft, we felt a huge sense of community as we all tried to figure out life during a pandemic.
And we think that’s what stands out the most this year – this contrast of being alone together.
And that sense of community really defined 2020 at Motherhood. We all had so much in the air and on our plates – the Motherhood Juggle was Real! We were all trying (and still trying!) to juggle our jobs, our kids, taking care of our house, our health, and our sanity – and we wanted to be there for our community of real moms. To give you (and, selfishly, ourselves) a place to commiserate, learn, complain, celebrate, and share. And we love where our community ended up.
So many of you shared your stories with us and helped other mamas to feel less alone. And so many experts shared their wisdom and helped us to understand how to manage our pregnancies, children, health, and well-being during such an intensely stressful time. We have learned so much from our community and are so grateful to each of you. Especially our community of essential and frontline workers – we are truly in awe of your strength and ability to juggle so much. Thank you for doing what you do.
So, though the year took a turn we weren’t prepared for – at least we were on the ride together.
