Has it really been a month since Ray graced us with a Mocktail Monday?
You are in luck today – get the glasses ready, Ray is here to fill your day with his wordy ramblings and a recipe for something seasonably sweet.
As written by Ray:
This post-season potable has a goodbye whisper from summer in the form of blueberry and a gentle gesture to your taste buds that fall flavors are on the way. It may sound strange, but blueberry and rosemary play well together.
I love this transitional mocktail. It’s got a little bit of summer and a little bit of fall all in one glass, it’s easy to put together whether you’re serving two or twelve, and it feels like a treat. Do yourself the favor and screenshot this one, download it, print it out… just make sure you can find it again because I’m sure it’ll be a drink you’ll want to make more than just on a Monday.
Rosemary Blueberry Fizz Mocktail
(serving: one 12 oz glass)
Ingredients:
8-12 blueberries
1 rosemary sprig, stripped
1/2 oz honey (roughly a tablespoon)
1 oz fresh lime and/or strawberries
4 oz sparkling water
Ice
Instructions:
Thoroughly muddle the blueberries, rosemary leaves, and honey in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add a squeeze of lime juice and top off with ice. Cover and shake vigorously for a few seconds. Strain through a mesh strainer into a tall glass with fresh ice. Top with sparkling water and stir. If you want to get fancy and impress guests, garnish it with a sprig of rosemary and a lime wheel.
A sprig of rosemary and a lime wheel? Well give me a minute as I get my fancy fascinator on. Hats off to you Ray. For all the readers, make sure you make it, post it, tag it, because we want to see it. @motherhoodmaternity #mocktailmonday
